Chris Melançon, President & CEO

Since 1993, Chris has served in leadership roles for emerging businesses focused on life sciences and information technology. Prior to founding Spyglass Biosecurity in 2007, Chris led a line of business at Applied Biosystems, a division of Life Technologies, where he promoted a comprehensive solutions-based approach to delivering Early Warning Systems for biological surveillance. Under his leadership, Applied Biosystems delivered over 6 million tests to the U.S. Postal Service for screening the mail for dangerous pathogens. In response to an increasing global concern about a potential influenza pandemic, Chris launched a multi-year initiative to deliver state-of-the-art tests in over 60 countries for influenza surveillance and detection. Chris holds degrees in mechanical engineering, applied physics and business.
